This healthy pecan snack recipe dishes up all the goodness of spelt flour and quinoa flakes so you know you’re serving only the best of the best for snacktime - at home or out and about.
All you need to take this tasty treat for a test drive is the listed ingredients, a mixer and a Mini Poddie.

Makes 1 Mini Poddies tray | Prep 15 minutes | Bake 10 - 15 minutes
- 100 g butter, softened
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) maple syrup
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 120 g (1 cup) white spelt flour
- 50 g (1/2 cup) quinoa flakes
- 90 g (1/2 cup) chocolate drops, 70% or good quality dark chocolate
- 40 g (1/3 cup) pecans, cut into small pieces
Preheat oven to 180 C and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Cream the butter and maple syrup together until well combined. Mix in egg, vanilla essence, and cinnamon. Sift the flour and baking powder and add to the butter mixture.
Add quinoa flakes, nuts, and chocolate and mix by hand.
Spoon the mixture into Mini Poddies tray, filling about two thirds full.
Bake for 10 - 15 minutes until golden and allow to cool completely before removing from tray.
