Homemade healthy fruit gummies

Out with sugary gummies, in with homemade healthy fruit gummies: Orange, Lemon and Mango Gummies

How many times a day does your small human ask for a treat? Too many?

Imagine having a homemade, healthy alternative on standby that could put an end to sugar-induced tantrums all while pleasing your toddler. Well, do we have the solution for you!

May we introduce our Orange, Lemon and Mango Gummies. You’re looking at a homemade and healthy version of sugary fruit gummies. One that waves artificial ingredients goodbye and relies on immune-boosting nutrients instead.

All you need to whip up these tasty gems is a food processor, a small pan and a We Might Be Tiny Freeze and Bake Poddie. Oh, and of course all your tasty ingredients. The Poddie will turn the nutrient-rich goodness into super cute Bear, Cat and Bunny-shaped gummies that add the special touch and will put a smile on your little one’s face.

Once you’ve whipped up your healthy fruit gummies, simply store them in your fridge for up to 1 week (good luck resisting) and give your Freeze and Bake Poddie a good rinse under warm soapy water or outsource the mess to your dishwasher. Because like all We Might Be Tiny products, the Poddie is dishwasher, oven and microwave-safe.

Makes 9 Freeze and Bake Poddies | Prep 20 minutes

  • 150 g (1 cup) mango
  • 80 ml (1/3 cup) freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 80 ml  (1/3 cup) freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ½ tsp maple syrup
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 tbsp gelatin

In a high speed food processor, blitz the mango, lemon and orange juice until it is completely smooth and a liquid.

Pour juice into a small pan and gradually add the gelatin, allowing it to be absorbed into the juice. Let sit for a few minutes and allow the mixture to thicken.

Over a low heat gently stir the ingredients for about five minutes until it is hot and has become runny. Be careful not to boil the mixture as this will give it a very rubbery texture

Pour the mixture into poddies.

Allow the mixture five minutes resting time into the poddies before placing the fridge. This helps to improve both the shine of the gummies and their taste.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours then pop them out of the poddies and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
