When it comes to parties, parents place so much thought into serving up something healthy and delicious and often forget about another important buffet table staple - the drinks!
And with the heat wave that summer brings, you can be sure the kids will need to rehydrate time and again.
There are, of course, a ton of store-bought juices and carbonated drinks a busy mum can choose from. A smart mum, however, knows that these varieties pack incredible amounts of sugar and additives that will do more bad than good.
With this thought, we worked hard over at the WMBT HQ to come up with a lip-smacking sipper that will earn you two very enthusiastic thumbs up from kids and adults alike!
This Mermaid Bubbles recipe explodes with both flavour and nutrients - a refreshingly healthy treat for sunny days.
And guess what, mums, if you like this recipe, you will enjoy the other nine included in WMBT’s soon-to-be-released booklet, ‘Party Foods’. There you’ll find various nutrilicious recipes that are a treat for the eyes and the tiny tummies. Rocking party preps has never been this easy-peasy! So be sure to check that one out, too.
Fast, Festive & Fizzy
Raise your hand if you’re like one of many mums thinking up clever ways to make picky eaters eat (in this case, drink) better!
Party punches don’t have to be boring or unhealthy. And they don’t have to be complicated, either! In fact, this refreshingly zingy cooler will be a fast favourite for sure. It takes only five minutes - definitely one of the easiest things you can whip up in the kitchen.
Plus, prepping this Mermaid Bubbles recipe can be a nice pre-party bonding activity for your munchkins.
Let your little ones help measure and pour ingredients! They can also take turns squeezing out the lemon juice into containers to help strengthen those tiny fingers. You, mum, will simply gather all the ingredients and slice the lemons beforehand. With just five basic ingredients, this deliciously tangy drink couldn’t be simpler to stir together.
This fruit juice will look super pretty spread on your party table, especially when served with our WMBT Silicone Straw.
Hit two birds with one silicone stone (or straw) because they also make for great giveaways!
Our silicone straws help keep spills to a minimum, and they are also a safer option than bamboo and steel. You don’t even have to worry about the sticky aftermath - just pop these in the dishwasher to do the dirty work.
Even better, these reusable straws are a great way to encourage our guests to steer clear of single-use plastics. Not only is this a clever culinary treat to trick our kids into drinking healthy, but we’re also starting them early on saving the environment.
Whether you choose the set that includes the keepie or just individual straws as tokens, these are sure to be a home run.
Why We Love This Recipe
Over at the WMBT HQ, we’ve relied on this refresher for parties, picnics, and even as a nutrilicious everyday pick-me-up.
But what makes this even more incredible is how easily you can bring on the fun and creativity by making it match any party theme.
- Berry Halloween: Swap out your lemons with strawberries or fresh cranberry juice
- Pink Fairies: Use watermelons as your base fruit to achieve this pretty shade.
- Totally Tropical: Use pineapple, orange and mango juice for an intense burst of sunshine in your mouth.
Not only is this recipe a more scrumptious option than store-bought alternatives, they’re also loads healthier.
LEMON JUICE
There are plenty of delicious juice flavours to choose from; just make sure they are 100% fruit juice to avoid added sugars. Lemons perfectly achieve the flavour, colour and nutritional punch we’re looking for. They contain an impressive amount of vitamin C and antioxidants, helping to level up our little ones’ immune systems.
APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
Made from fermented apples, ACV contains probiotics, minerals, & vitamins, and has even been touted as a ‘wonder drug’ for all of its health benefits.
SPIRULINA
This plant-based superfood is an excellent supplement for kids who need to level up their daily veggie intake. It’s also a great source of protein and many other essential building blocks of whole nutrition, like complex B vitamins, vitamin A, iron, and more.
